My 4 year old apparently is very obsessed with death lately. First came talk of the baby dying then today I walk upstairs and Adam says to me "Zoey and I are pretending to be dead."
I say "Why don't you pretend to be asleep instead, because I would be SO sad if you were dead."
He says "Well, we're just PRETENDING to be dead."
I'm not concerned so much as just really curious as to where all this is coming from. Can't say we've really had too many talks about death at our house so I'm not sure where he has picked it up. Guess I need to keep closer tabs on what they are teaching on PBS Kids.....
Life with kids is ALWAYS an adventure. And I have 3 who are only 3 years apart. (yes, we're crazy.) This is my place to capture the craziness in all it's glory, because childhood only happens once. (thank goodness!)

Maddy also has a strange obsession with death. It's a stage that some kids go through...they need to process and figure out a concept that is new to them. When they become aware of it (pretend violence from older kids, overhearing the news etc) they have to take some time deciding how to deal with it.
I guess it's a 4 year old thing...
How odd. But I Guess natural to wonder about it at the same time. Here's to teaching gospel principles moments.
Did he recently watch Corpse Bride?
I am thinking it might be the age? I almost 4 year old talks a lot about death too. Maybe b/c it gets a reaction from me.
